Joy Bishara

Joy Bishara is one of the "Chibok girls" who were kidnapped by the Boko Haram terrorists on April 14th, 2014 in Chibok, Nigeria.  Miraculously, she escaped and came to America to finish her studies. Recently graduated with her BSW from Southeastern University and is currently getting her MSW.  Bishara has been featured numerous times on national television. She most recently appeared on ABC's “Good Morning America” in May and in People Magazine. She has addressed the United Nations, met with the president of Nigeria, and other heads of state.  In 2017, she met with President Donald Trump in the Oval Office. It was the White House picture of the day.  Bishara would love to open a nonprofit agency in Nigeria to help those in need around the Borno area.
